Facility & Utility Problems

Life Threatening Facility Emergencies

Call 911 and evacuate the building in cases of:

  • Fire
  • Smoke
  • Explosion
  • Structural damage or collapse
  • Uncontrolled gas leak
  • Uncontrolled chemical or hazardous material spills

Other Facility Emergencies: 

  • Unknown odors
  • Hazardous conditions
  • Activated residence hall room smoke detectors
  • Persons trapped in elevators

  • Heating or air-conditioning failure
  • Building flooding and water leaks
  • Building or room security issues

Campus Life facilities call the Campus Life Facilities Office at 607 255-0423 or the area service center. If the problem occurs between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., or on weekends, call Customer Service at 607-255-5322.

CAUTION ! In case of electrical emergencies, do not touch equipment that is smoking, sparking, tripping circuit breakers or giving electrical shocks.

CAUTION ! In case of indoor flooding – do not walk into standing water as there is a risk of electrocution.
